Other travel health risks include dengue, chikungunya, measles and tuberculosis. Our pharmacists can review the areas you plan to visit.
Do I need malaria tablets for Zanzibar?
Yes. Malaria risk is high in all areas of Tanzania below 1,800 metres, including Zanzibar, and malaria tablets are recommended. This applies even if Zanzibar is the only destination on your trip.

Vaccination is generally not recommended for Tanzania and Zanzibar because the exposure risk is low. However, a certificate is required for travellers over 1 year old arriving from a country with yellow fever risk, or after more than 12 hours in an airport in one. Your route can create a certificate requirement even when the vaccine is not otherwise recommended.
Do I need travel insurance for Zanzibar?
