Travel vaccinations for Bali and Indonesia

Our pharmacists can review all the islands and regions you plan to visit.

Malaria risk is low in Bali, Lombok, Java and Sumatra, where mosquito bite avoidance is advised. There is no malaria risk in Jakarta. Papua has high malaria risk, and malaria tablets are recommended there. If you're travelling across several islands or regions, make sure your consultation covers your full route, not just Bali.
Is a yellow fever certificate needed for Bali?
Indonesia has no yellow fever risk, but travellers aged 9 months and over arriving from a country with yellow fever risk need proof of vaccination. The requirement depends on where you are arriving from, not whether you are visiting Bali, Jakarta or another part of Indonesia. Share your journey details with our pharmacists before departure.
Do I need a rabies vaccine for Bali?
Not everyone does, but it is recommended for some travellers. That includes people staying longer than a month, runners and cyclists, anyone working with animals, and those going somewhere with limited access to medical care. Children are also at higher risk, as they may not report a bite or scratch. Tell our pharmacists about your plans.
