These Strepsils Lozenges are a treatment that works to provide relief for a sore throat. These lozenges work by killing the bacteria in the mouth and throat that is causing the pain and discomfort. The active ingredients of these lozenges are:
Both of these active ingredients are antiseptics that kill the bacteria but also helps to lubricate the mouth and throat, soothing pain. This is because of the liquid that dissolves in the mouth when sucking on it.
Throat and mouth soreness and pain can be caused by a number of reasons. The most likely cause of short-term soreness and pain if an infection, such as a cold or the flu. The germs in the mouth get there by air that is the result of someone who is infected coughing or sneezing. The air with the germs enters the body through the eyes, nose, or mouth. A cold or flu is not the only cause of a sore throat though, as it can also be caused by an allergy or by smoking.
These lozenges are suitable to be used by adults and children aged 6 and over. Anyone who is allergic to the ingredients that are in the lozenges should not use them. Even though these are sugar-free, you should not use these lozenges if you have an intolerance to some sugars, these include glucose, sucrose, and fructose.
Anyone who is pregnant or breastfeeding should speak to a doctor or Knightsbridge Pharmacy before using.
One lozenge should be put into the mouth and allowed to dissolve completely before using another one. Use a lozenge every 2-3 hours. Only use 12 lozenges every 24 hours. If symptoms are still a problem after 3 days of using these lozenges, then speak to a doctor or Knightsbridge Pharmacyfor advice.
There is a chance of side effects as a result of an allergic reaction. These include itching as well as burning or discomfort in the mouth. If you notice a side effect, then stop using and speak to a doctor or Knightsbridge Pharmacy as soon as possible. You can also record a side effect using the MHRA Yellow Card Scheme.
