What is Benylin Mucus Cough Menthol Flavour?

This is a menthol flavoured version of the Benylin Mucus Cough Syrup that works to treat and reduce a mucus cough. It works by thinning the mucus that is caught in the throat and chest. The active ingredient of this medicine is guaifenesin, which is an expectorant. An expectorant is a drug that thins the mucus and relieves a cough.

What causes a mucus cough?

A mucus cough is often caused by an infection, such as a cold or the flu. It is caused when mucus or phlegm builds up in the airways, in particular, the chest and the throat. A cough is a reaction to the build-up of mucus, as a cough is a method of trying to remove it.
