Eye Infection

Eye infections are very common within infants, children and even adults. Luckily there are simple treatments to help relieve the symptoms and bacteria causing the infection.

Firstly you can get bacterial eye infections, this is commonly referred to as conjunctivitis, symptoms include pain, yellow crusty discharge on the eyelids and eyelashes and a sticky sensation when opening the eye. This infection is caused by a bacteria and will require antibiotics to treat the infection. A course of eye drops alongside correct hygiene can get rid of the infection in a matter of days. It is important to note bacterial conjunctivitis is very contagious, therefore any creams or makeup that has been in contact with the infected eye must be discarded to prevent reinfection. Furthermore pillowcases and towels should not be shared with others and washed on a high heat to kill any remaining bacteria.
